Dine on a secret menu, prepared by one of our chefs, in a secret, ever-changing location. Our chef will reveal themselves only after the meal. It is advised that guests book before 16:00 on Thursday.

An ancient Japanese dining tradition centred around a sunken charcoal hearth. Dating back to the Jomon period, Irori embodies communal gatherings and sustainable cooking practices, offering a taste of rural Japanese culture and culinary heritage. Our resident Irori Chef, Chef Kasa, showcases his interpretation of Irori in an Omakase-style dinner.

Journey across the world’s largest continent at Asian Kitchen, situated on the second floor of The Gathering. For lunch or dinner, indulge in Chinese stir-fries and dumplings, Indonesian delights, classic Thai street food, and succulent Cambodian treats grilled on hot lava stones.

Seating up to 20 guests, So Imaginative is a private room perfect for celebrations. Our sommeliers can create inspired wine tastings and wine dinners here, selecting the perfect pairings from the wine tower.

Flames, smoke and unspoilt views of the Noonu Atoll set the stage for the So Bespoke open-air teppanyaki table. Situated next to Cinema Paradiso, this intimate dining destination seats just eight guests per sitting.

Run in partnership with the Olive Ridley Project, the Noonu Atoll Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Centre aims to rehabilitate and return injured sea turtles to the wild. Meet our resident patients while learning about ongoing conservation efforts during expert-led tours of the centre.

Pay a visit to the community of Kudafari in the Noonu Atoll to immerse yourself in the local culture by watching the islanders as they work, rest and play. Discover the island’s resilient native plant species, seafaring history, vernacular building design, traditional craftsmanship and spirituality as practised by the community. Unleash your full potential with our resident tennis and padel coach, Petra Uberalova. With extensive experience coaching both children and adults, Petra offers the expertise of a professional tennis player who has held five ITF Women’s titles and reached the doubles finals at the Junior US Open and the semi-finals of Junior Wimbledon.

Located near the North Beach Spa Champa and surrounded by lush jungle vistas, the court is open daily from 07:00 to 24:00. Fully equipped and open to guests of all ages, bookings are on a first-come-first-served basis and can be made through your Barefoot Guardian.

Meet our experts when it comes to nature, conservation and sustainability. The Soneva Academy invites teens (12 years and up) to learn more about all the natural wonders of the Maldives and the sustainability projects on and around our island. Each course consists of three modules of two hours each, which are followed by an exam and take young Sonevians from junior to expert.

Enjoy an out-of-this-world experience watching playful dolphins in the light of the setting sun. Cruise into deeper water while indulging in a selection of canapés and sparkling wine, making wonderful memories along the way. Although dolphin sightings are not guaranteed, we know their favourite areas to play.

Non-Motorised Water Sports

We offer a range of complimentary non-motorised water sports, including kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, windsurfing, kite surfing, night paddleboarding and catamarans. Private tuition is available at an additional charge on an hourly basis.

Motorised Water Sports

Experience the ocean with complete freedom. Gliding, diving, skimming – all of this is possible with a SEABOB. Learn to move through the water like a fish, on the surface and beneath the waves.

What happens if you fit a surfboard with a motor? You get an eSurf-board. The eSurf lets you get up to speeds of 56km per hour, making this an exhilarating water sport.

Let us take you away to the powdery soft sands where a continental breakfast, prepared on the sea shore, awaits you. As you delight in a delicious morning meal, bask in the almost spiritual moment of the sun rising as the waves lap gently onto the seashore.

After your on-shore breakfast, the captain and crew will welcome you aboard Soneva in Aqua and set sail for the snorkelling areas within the Baa Atoll, the only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the Maldives. Keep your eyes peeled for turtles, dolphins and possibly manta rays (*season and weather dependent). Enjoy a bespoke lunch menu on-board, prepared by your personal chef. After lunch, grab your fins, mask and snorkel for some underwater sightseeing in some of the best spots in the area, followed by some hard earned relaxation time in the sun or in our outdoor Jacuzzi. Enjoy a personalised treatment of your choice from our on-board massage therapist. As the sun sets, lie in our bowsprit nets and search for playing dolphins. The chef will prepare canapés and pop the sparkling wine upon your return to Soneva Jani.

Watch classic and contemporary favourites beneath the stars or take your Cinema Paradiso experience to new heights, while our chefs craft a menu of comfort food and nibbles. Refreshing cocktails, complimentary popcorn and ice creams can also be arranged.

Take an aquatic adventure through the waters of the Noonu Atoll and discover the diversity of Maldivian marine life, guided by our resident Marine Biologist. The atoll-native sea turtles and rays may make a special appearance, as you experience the magnificence of life below the sea.
